Athens business leaders promise a full day of events at the fair grounds with baseball, horse and bicycle races, and substantial prizes including a $40 bedroom set. Tickets grant a chance at prizes as organizers urge public turnout. Chillicothe Driving Park hosts a kite shaped track July 2–5 with famed riders and animals including Miss Mystic Peck Madam Maronette File Maker Jupiter Boston and Sam and Dag performing at the Kite track.

Saturday evening June 15 the Columbiad club opened its home to members and guests. Attendees included Misses Findley Stinson Jennie Sloane Esther Burns Lucy Weethee Lucy Murdoch Myrtle Hull Jessie Tres ham Lillian Michael and C Henson Willis Boughton. Prof Boughton presided as symposiarch presenting J H Atkinson with Gossip and a poem The Missing Links by F C Schofield. Jennie Kurtz recited and Grace Read read a poem Longing for the Flight of Time. The event closed with impromptu remarks and a sense the club’s first year was auspicious.
