Steubenville Woman Rescued After Near Drowning at Burr Oak Beach
Lulu Wayne, 25, of Steubenville nearly drowned at Burr Oak Beach hill in Lake Burr Oak Sunday. Lifeguard Terry White of Athens performed mouth to mouth resuscitation with help from fellow lifeguard Earich Angle of Glouster. Wayne was revived and hospitalized twice in Nelsonville and Zanesville before returning home.

Everett Hickman 58 of New Straitsville died Monday morning in Mount St Mary Hospital after two months as patient. A coal miner and native of New Straitsville he was the son of the late James and Mary Ann Hickman.
