Emergency Reduction Made To Meet Fund Overdraft
Athens County relief orders were cut in half to cover a $4,000 overdraft in the relief fund. The cut affects families of four who now receive $3.20 instead of $6.40 for two weeks. May relief aided 5,430 people across 1,086 families as state funding lagged by about $6,000 since January. County commissioners vote to issue $25,000 in bonds to finance coming months, the last such funding under current law.
