Originality on the Green as Boys State campaigns unfold
Summer heat lingered as the West Green hosted state and county conventions with colorful characters and bold signs. John Gould sang songs on the lawn while Don Perry piped tunes. Nakagawa trucked a huge VOTE FOR ME sign, and Cobbett erected a near hundred foot display. Campaign spenders handed out stickers and gimmicks as candidates claimed slept and vending machines bought. Kitchen City mooted tax avoidance via the Consolidated Church of America as Sunday neared.

Slip Of The Tongue Baffles Buckeye Boys State Names
Two Cincinnati youths named Mike Brestel and Mike Bruestle cause confusion at Buckeye Boys State due to similar names. In De Weese County Sun day morning pranksters dumped paper in county counsellor Tom Sharp’s room prompting a cleanup. Martin City citizens retaliated by discarding old election materials in Sharp’s room. After breakfast Sharp organized a salvage crew to restore the room and the group cleaned furn iture, beds, and floor. Accidents remain the top cause of death for ages 15 to 24, killing four times as many men as women.

Nats Consider Action Over Rally Confusion
Nationalists convene to seek action over a rally they say violated rules by allowing multiple Federalist candidates to speak. They cite narrow margins in lieutenant governor and state auditor races and claim extra publicity influenced results. Fred Valentich frames the suit as a civic example beyond self interest.
