Julie Mourning of Columbus with mother Mrs James Mourning and Dale Mourning visited Mr and Mrs Tom Walters on Mason Blvd. A bead lodged in Julie's nose, prompting ambulance transport to Holzer Hospital Thursday afternoon for removal. Julie is the Walters’ granddaughter.

Rotary Club Plans German Girl Sponsorship in Gallipolis
Gallipolis Rotary Club discussed sponsoring a German college graduate who will spend three months in the United States. Host families from Gallia County will assist for part of her stay. The club also announced the district 669 Rotary International conference on June 21 in Athens and planned a joint golf match with Kiwanis and Lions. They voted to aid souvenir program sales for Gallipolis' 175th anniversary October 10 to 17.

Gallipolis Man Cited After Auto Hits Car
POINT PLEASANT Willis Thompson 31 of Gallipolis was cited for failure to have his vehicle under control after his auto struck the rear of a car driven by Herbert Henderson 68 of Winfield Rd. The crash occurred on Route 17 at 7 30 am Wednesday five miles south of Point Pleasant. Damage was $250 with no injuries.
