Logan flood relief efforts under state direction

Matilda Foltz Dies near Scott Creek at 92

Logan report dated June 17 states Matilda Foltz 92 died Wednesday afternoon at her son Jacob Foltz home in Scotts Creek vicinity. Cause listed as senility. Widow of John Feitz she lived all her life in the area. Survived by sons Edward and Inst Worth Feltz and daughters Mrs Fred Saters and Mrs James Campbell. Funeral at Mt Zion United Brethren Church 1 pm Saturday with burial in Scotts Creek cemetery.

NO EVIDENCE LOGAN June 17. Judge Ellinger ruled Harley Stewart of near Laurelville not guilty of possessing intoxicating liquor. Stewart was arrested by state and county officers over a week ago. hearing held last week. sentence reserved until Thursday.

Funeral held for Andrew Buckingham 7 in Logan

Funeral services were held at Union Furnace United Brethren church for Andrew Buckingham seven who died Tuesday morning from myocarditis. The Rev. T C Harper of Logan presided. He leaves a son Charles Buckingham a daughter Mrs Mitte Ingmire of Zanesville and a brother John of Lancaster.

Lloyd Innis of Logan and Delmer Walker of Rockbridge were involved in a post fueling station quarrel with Walker and two companions. Judge Ellinger gave a lecture and urged parental restraint. Three Logar men convicted in delinquency case

Three young men from Logar, Ernest Sater Carl McConnell and Clarence Hopkins were found guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. McConnell and Sater received ten days in Hocking county jail and fines of 25 dollars plus costs while Hopkins drew the same fine but fifteen days in jail. The court placed the minor ward of the court with final disposition pending.

First Directory of Athens Since 1913 An 18 Compiled

The first Athens directory since 1913 will be off the press around August 1, compiled by A D Townsend. It covers Athens and Mechanicsburg with history, officials, highways and numbers, 175 city streets, a resident list, business and profession sections, and local demographics. Population figures show Athens about 7 000 within city limits and Mechanicsburg at 606, with 167 at Athens state hospital. A wasp sting incident at a picnic is noted.
