Pomeroy Meigs County 4-H dairy club members and advisers are invited to a Dairy Training program Monday at two sites. One session runs 12 30 to 3 30 p m at the Athens State Hospital dairy barn, the other 6 to 9 p m at John Payne Farm near Vinton Route 2. Dr Harry Barr of Ohio State University will discuss showmanship and dairy nutrients in Grass to Milk. Ivan Archer will cover youth opportunities in dairy and Donna Jo Walker presents What's in a Glass of Milk. Reservations are not required. The Athens site lies behind the Ohio University Inn on Dairy Lane. John Payne Farm is about three miles from Vinton off Route 325.
Mrs Edward Foster and family including Rev and Mrs Carver Williams and granddaughter Linda Yost visited relatives in the western states and Michigan. They attended Mary Jane Cottrill’s high school graduation in Minot North Dakota. Nearby, Lester Stewart and family traveled to Cape Charles Air Base Virginia to visit relatives. Laymen from Pomeroy address a Rio Grande College conference this weekend. The bloodmobile will be at Pomeroy Elementary School Monday 12 to 6 pm replacing the junior high site. Vernon Nease urges donations of at least 100 pints.
The Middleport White Rose Lodge Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen met at the Legion Hall with Mrs William Morris presiding in place of the absent president Mrs William Robson The group was invited to the home of Mrs A B Pullen for a dessert course
A divorce was granted by Judge John C. Bacon in the case of Howard Robinson, Racine Route 2 vs Eleanor Robinson. The defendant will pay $40 monthly for three minor children and $60 monthly alimony. The separation agreement terms were approved by the court.
The City of Athens Ohio invites sealed bids by July 5 1987 12 00 noon for construction of a fire department substation at 454 Richland Avenue. Plans and specs are in the Director of Public Service Safety's office. Bid bonds or certified checks equal to 10 percent of the bid are required. A $30 plan deposit and $20 plan refund policy apply.
