Vanishing country doctor Dr Walker ends 47 years of care
Nelsonville focuses on Dr Allison K Walker who after 47 years as a practicing physician in Buchtel and surrounding towns plans retirement to Little Hocking to live with his brother. A longtime Athens County Board of Education member and past president, he recalls 3000 to 4000 deliveries since 1902 and a life rich with service, storms of the 1918 flu, and a lunar of community ties.
