Heath Methodist Church WSCS hosted a threefold Mother-Daughter Night with 60 attendees. Activities included a Flag Day observance a study topic presentation world unity theme and a musical program with mothers and daughters.
Pomeroy and surrounding residents hosted and visited friends from California, Reedsville, and Tuppers Plains. The column lists DAR picnickers, Frigidaire meeting attendees in Portsmouth, Farm Bureau gatherings, and weekend guests from Dayton, Columbus, Zanesville, and Cincinnati, with several returning home from hospitals or trips.

Twenty attended as the class planned to pay half the cost of linoleum and wallpaper for the parsonage kitchen.

The two year old son of Mr and Mrs Robert Wright of Pittsburgh was struck by an automobile and killed instantly in front of their home on June 11. The child’s mother is the daughter of Mrs Edward Heaber formerly Jessie Hundley of Middleport and cousin of Mrs L D Diles.
Middleport reports three women seriously ill Mrs Nannie Agee has been moved to Pomeroy General Hospital after a heart attack Mrs R C Tuckerman a local businesswoman and operator of Tuckerman's Grocery on Lincoln Street and Mrs Frank Allen who recently suffered a stroke at her farm home in Portland The Allens moved to Portland from Sixth Avenue location not specified.
Twin-City Shrine Club president Fred Russell says the group will gather at 7 30 p m Thursday at the Zerkle Transfer Company located at Race and Front Streets for a meeting.
The regular meeting of the Daughters of Union Veterans convened at the IOOF Hall Monday evening. Plans were laid for the delegates.
Funeral services for Herbert Reese were held Tuesday afternoon at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. B. R. Smith of Bidwell officiating. Edward Powell was arrested by sheriff’s officers on June 7 on a non-support charge. He appeared before Justice L. B. Higgins, charges withdrawn by the plaintiff, with prosecuting attorney permission, and Powell paid to cover costs and was released.
Diana Eubanks Pomeroy, granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Hennessy, underwent surgery at the Mason Clinic last Saturday.
