Supreme Court Affirms County In $10,000 Liability Case
Logan June 14 The Ohio Supreme Court sustained a lower court ruling in Consolidated Indemnity Co. v Board of County Commissioners of Hocking County. The bond covering public deposits in First Rempel National Bank was argued to secure only active funds, about 2000 dollars, but the court ruled the insurance company liable for the full 10 000 as security for deposits regularly deposited and subject to check. Prosecutor C Wood Bowen led the county defense, winning before the Supreme Court for the second time.
