General Telephone Plans 836000 Logan Area Work
Logan plans a three year 836000 service improvement program by General Telephone Co of Ohio. It covers expansion of switching and outside cable lines with thousands of new customer lines and terminals for new numbers. One major cable addition extends west of Logan toward Enterprise along Route 33 to a housing development near the Goodyear plant. On completion 1000 new lines and 500 terminals will be installed at Logan central office costing 93000. Growth in population drives demand for one and two party lines as the Logan exchange, spanning 308 square miles in parts of Hocking Perry and Vinton Counties, serves almost 6000 telephones.
