Statewide school plans formed here
A statewide committee of County Superintendents met in Athens to prepare plans to improve Ohio school finances and seek permanent enactment. The plan bases state aid on class enrollment rather than daily attendance, aiming to aid weaker schools and fund transportation costs rising postwar. Athens County benefits from University ties and veteran spouses supplying teachers, with strong staffing and salary implications.
