Agricultural education required for Athens county teachers
An Ohio Attorney General opinion states all elementary teachers in Athens county schools under the county system must be competent to teach agriculture or take agriculture in their professional studies. The rule does not accept agriculture credit from high school. The interpretation concerns section 7761-1 of the Ohio code, mandating agriculture in all common schools in county and rural districts, with option for city districts.
