West Ohio United Methodist Conference Opens at Lakeside
Ministers and lay members from 1 402 churches in western Ohio gather at Lakeside for the five day West Ohio Annual Conference. More than 5 000 attend including 2 700 voting members making it the largest conference in the denomination. The session features a plan to address hunger and marks the 200th anniversary of the nation. Bishop Joel McDavid of Lakeland Florida is guest speaker on Bicentennial themes. Bishop F Gerald Ensley retires September 1 after 24 years.
