Nelsonville district reports 219 pupils from Kimberly Floydwood Monday Carbon Hill Sand Run Haydenville gather for a morning program at the Presbyterian Church with Rev Lloyd Evans and organist Miss Louise Ruce. Miss Irene McDowell leads district schools. Liberty event includes a noon picnic and an afternoon field meet with transportation from local firms.

Nelsonville resident W J Simms suffered a severe cut to his left great toe when an axe he was handing slipped and struck his foot on a farm near Lick Run. Three Years Later Aims at Man in Court Shootout

George Simms 68 of Pittsburgh was to be arraigned in Bucyrus on charges growing from a fatal shooting of former friend Charles Martin 42 of Camden. Simms said Martin called him a name years ago and he planned to retaliate. they met at a Pennsylvania Railroad camp near Bucyrus and Simms fired three shots hitting Martin in the jaw before surrendering to police.

Lewis Elected President of Rio Grande College

Rio Grande College formally elected William A Lewis president at the board meeting. Lewis, acting president for a year, is a Gallia County native and former dean who has taught at the college for many years. Kermit Coffman, 16, sought for questioning in a theft case, attempted to flee as Deputy Cridip ordered the car to stop. Paroled Inmates Include Guy Dalton From Ohio Penitentiary
