Athens Farmers Market task force eyes three sites
A task force reviewing relocation options for the Athens Farmers Market has narrowed the field to three potential sites. The group, formed last October, will have the current Market on State lease extend two years to allow continued study. A site subgroup will conduct detailed evaluations of the three remaining sites and determine ownership, governance, funding, and infrastructure needs. The market has occupied Market on State since 1998 and seeks a public space with Athens Farmers Market as anchor and broader community use.
