Federal Aid Program Recertified in Athens
Congressman Clarence E Miller announces HUD recertified the Workable Program for Community Improvement in Athens. Recertification keeps Athens eligible for federal loans grants and liberal FHA mortgage insurance to support urban renewal and rehousing displaced families. The certification is a showing of how local and private resources will be used to eliminate slums and blight and does not approve specific federal aid. Once approved the program can apply for federal aids to supplement local resources.
