Night Club Bankroll Hijacked in Newport Heist

In Newport Kentucky a $10,000 bankroll intended for Beverly Hills night club was intercepted by six bandits. They forced the club’s house car off a road near a cemetery, using machine guns and shotguns to threaten its four occupants. No official report to authorities has been filed.

13 Lives Lost In Accidents Over Weekend In Ohio

Ohio's accidental death list rose to 13 over the weekend as airplane crashes claimed lives in Cleveland Columbus and Akron. Victims include Cleland Hess 21 and Donald Glendenning 28 from Cleveland, Russell Kirbert 22 a Ohio State University senior from Cincinnati who survived a fire crash in Columbus. Victor Offret 73 was found drowned near Akron after being struck into a stream by a motor vehicle. Robert Miller 7 and Fred Robby 8 both of Columbus drowned. A G Beasley 38 suffered fatal burns at a Columbus industrial plant after falling into boiling oil.

Calls Pension Charity Dole Sparks Liberal Aid Push

County Home Inmates Poisoned by Food

Four of 120 residents at Franklin County Home were reported in serious condition after food poisoning at the Sunday meal. Dr. C H Wells said he arrived at 7 p.m. and, with Drs Har vey Wright and Carl Goll, internists, worked eight hours to save them.
