Athens council passes Ordinance 1110 to establish a three member boxing and wrestling commission with duties to regulate exhibitions, enforce rules, prevent disorder, and oversee venues in the city. Commissioners serve three year terms. license fees fund the Boxing and Wrestling Trust Fund for ongoing costs.
Ordinance fixes salaries for city workers in Athens Ohio. Second assistant clerk in Water Works Office and Service Department set at 165.00 dollars per month, paid 82.50 by Service and 82.50 by Water Department. another position set at 180.00 per month, paid 90.00 by Service and 90.00 by Water.
Athens city council enacts amendments to pay for a city mechanic and updates traffic and building codes. Ordinance 1118 sets mechanic salary at 825.00 monthly with semi monthly 125.06 pay. Ordinance 1116 expands street restrictions and traffic oversight. Ordinance 1115 updates building code enforcement and penalties. The measures take effect upon approval in June 1952.
Ordinance XXIII requires a permit from the Director of Public Service Safety before installing or replacing electrical wiring parts in Athens. The permit costs one dollar, and completion triggers an inspection by the Fire Department with fee schedules for outlets fixtures motors and generators. Penalties apply for nonconformity to the National Electrical Code.
