Police hunted a slender girl and a male companion after the slaying of Richard C. Tesmer, wealthy insured man, during a North Side robbery. The pair escaped in Tesmer’s car with about 70 dollars. a man was detained as detectives sought the girl’s identification from Mrs. Tesmer and police photos.
James Lyle, longtime bank watchman and dog catcher, died after an afternoon altercation with Charles Fry and his son Tom over dog license enforcement.
