Hamden Moves Ahead On New Fire Station Plans
Hamden will begin construction of a new fire station after state approval. Mayor Charles McCoppin says funding comes from a citizen fundraiser plus village treasury money, with most labor donated. The current equipmenthouse is too small, stored in a former bank annex, and a new station will allow modern trucks and pumps. Completion of a new water main raised system pressure and revealed leaks now repaired, reducing overall water use. A Class 8 fire insurance rating is hoped for to lower property insurance costs.
