Federal Hocking Residents Debate Tax Fairness and Education Funding
About 30 Federal Hocking residents, teachers, and officials gathered at the high school to push for more equitable state funding for education. They favored redistributing wealth from richer districts to poorer ones and considered marked proposals such as a dedicated education lottery, a penny tax on soft drinks, and greater citizen involvement in school administration. A fourth meeting is planned for Stewart's middle school.
