Ohio University President Discusses Tuition Rise and Plans

Ohio University President Claude R. Sowle warned that tuition increases would be inevitable if the Senate adopts a higher education appropriations bill similar to the House version. He said he would recommend the maximum $90 per year if approved, boosting in state tuition three quarters from 660 to 750 and out of state from 1710 to 1950. The House budget includes a 1.1 million main campus rise and 250 thousand for branches in year one, with no main campus increase in year two and 181 thousand for branches.
