A young bandit broke into Cline Drug Store in Albany early today, fled with a small haul and a woman accomplice driving a 1947 or 1948 two door car. Regional Council Set to Hear Local Executive Miller

Harry M. Miller, Gallia County native and executive vice president of the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co, will address an open Southeastern Ohio Regional Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 10 in the Ohio University Center. A graduate of Gallia Schools, he later earned degrees from Ohio Wesleyan and Ohio State University law school, practiced law in Gallipolis, and served as county prosecuting attorney from 1939 to 1955, executive secretary to Gov. New Look Aims to Stop Sales Tax Cheating in Ohio

Ohio will issue a redesigned pre paid sales tax stamp within weeks to curb vendor cheating on receipts. Tax Commissioner Stanley J. Bowers said the stamp instructs buyers to keep the receipt and notes that stamp cancellation routes tax payments to the state treasury.
