The 32 graduates and one veteran receive diplomas from Nelsonville High School in a ceremony led by Principal J. K. Kinneer. Prof. H R Cotterman urged college, self-reliance, and faith as the key to opportunity. Awards went to Charles Eldon Wiseman and others, with music and an invocation by Rev. Niswander.

Robert Smith 52, former Nelsonville resident, died at his Lancaster home of coronary thrombosis after about three months illness. He owned a Lancaster finance company, led the Lions Club, and supported sight-saving work. Survived by wife Alice, son Robert Jr., brother Dick Smith, and sister Lucille Smith Van Meter. Man Pleads Guilty To School Bus Stop Charge
Nelsonville court records show C. B. Cash of Athens pleaded guilty to illegally passing a school bus. Mayor Earl Hilleary suspended the $10 fine and costs after mayoral investigation found the bus stopped on a curve, preventing Cash from stopping in time. An area resident filed the affidavit, not the driver.
