Wickline Services Set For Thursday
Funeral services for Jennie E. Wickline 93 of Patriot Route 1 will be held Thursday at 2 30 p m at Sandfork Baptist church with burial in Mound Hill Cemetery. She died Monday at Holzer Hospital and is survived by two daughters, two sons, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, plus three sisters and a brother.

Three Men Plead Guilty in Trainer Property Break-In
In Gallia County three men pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the Trainer property near Gallia after a May term grand jury indictment. Samuel Keetin 22 Raleigh J Cook 40 and Ronald E Bradley 29 entered pleas before Judge Robert M Betz as cases were held under advisement. Darrel L Collier 24 already pleaded guilty last week and received three years probation on two counts.

Kentucky Men Nabbed By Police In Gallipolis
Gallipolis police arrested three Kentucky men late Tuesday on burglary tools charges after a tip from Gallia County authorities. Officers found a car containing a suitcase of tools including a high speed drill, wire cutters, rope and sledge hammer. One man was on parole and all three have safe cracking backgrounds.

Thirty One Students Win Scholastic PTA Awards at Washington
At Washington Elementary School in Gallipolis a PTA awards assembly honored 31 sixth graders. Ten top students with averages 3.9 to 3.7 received engraved notebooks, 11 additional students with 3.6 to 3.3 earned engraved ballpoint pens, and honorable mention went to eight more with averages 3.2 to 3.4.

Unusual garden tractor stolen from Gallia County farm
The Gallia County sheriff reports theft of a home made green crawler tractor from W. N. Henry's Polecat Road farm between May 23 and 25. It is described as the county’s only such device. An attempted break in at Mercer ville School’s pop machine over the weekend was reported, and a sheriff warning urged keeping away from Mercerville School now that school is out.
