The Point Pleasant 3664th Ord nance Co of West Virginia National Guard departs for Camp Pickett Va with an advance detachment of officers and enlisted personnel. About 100 more guard members will join Saturday for a two week encampment near Blackstone Va.

UNCAAP Director to Speak at West Virginia Alcohol Action Program Night
The Rev. J Sedwick new UNCAAP director will be guest speaker for the evening service Aug. 15. He will discuss the West Virginia United Church Alcohol Action Program. The lay school of theology for men will be Aug. 20 22 at Asbury Wood with the theme The Role Of The Laymen In The Church And In The World. Bishop Holloway will lead four one hour Bible study sessions using Sermon On The Mount. Dr. Robert Mayfield will keynote the assembly on Saturday evening. Everett Lindsey will present an audience participation program. Dr. Ramsey Bridges will deliver the Sunday morning sermon. The institute will be held at Jacksons Mill.

Gallipolis Ferry reports Zion Baptist Church on Crab Creek Road concluded a two week vacation Bible school directed by Mrs. Mabel Esque. Attendance averaged 58 daily with 86 total. 29 achieved perfect attendance.
