Extension Fund Hike Hinted By Logan County
Logan County Commissioner Otto Shaw told the Extension Advisory Council that a levy of 0.15 mill might be needed on the November ballot for the extension program. The 1966 budget is set at 12 10,000, while the 1965 budget totals 9,485 with 3,000 added this month for a 9,485 total. The extra 3,000 reflects the state's plan to hire a district 4 H extension director rather than one per county, with Bill Melvin as Hocking 4-H director and a full 6,000 salary in 1966. Shaw noted commissioners cannot approve the amount now but are open to discussing a levy.
