In Columbus federal court James D. Nolan again seeks a 36 seat reduction from Ohio’s 137 member House. The proposal would redraw to 52 districts as arranged by the Governmental Research Institute of Cleveland, altering county groupings and at large candidacies while avoiding new primaries.

The forged checks, stolen from the data center, bore his name and were issued to firms state business with. The responsible employee has been discharged.
Athens Police Captain Joseph W. McBride 58 died in Sheltering Arms Hospital after two months illness from cancer. A 25 year veteran, he joined the force April 21 1939 under Chief E S Finsterwald and was among the first sergeants named in 1952 later promoted to captain in 1956. He resided at 25 Central Ave and had recent surgery. Continued on Page 19.
A U S Army officer was killed in a major Viet Cong ambush of a government battalion north of Saigon before dawn. Government casualties were reported extremely heavy. the attack may be the fifth U S death in three days and the 164th in action since December 1961. The ambush targeted a unit moving from Ben Suc to Ben Cat, 30 miles north of Saigon, with ongoing scattered clashes in the Ben Cat region.
Common Pleas Judge Henry L. Holden ordered a temporary halt to publishing love letters attributed to Warren G. Harding after George T. Harding III filed a suit as an heir at law seeking impoundment and $1 million in damages. Defendants include American Heritage Publishing Co McGraw Hill Publishing Co and individuals Kenneth Duckett and Francis Russell.
