Several Municipal Races Lack Candidates As Filing Nears
With one week left to file petitions for village township and school board seats, several offices have no candidates. Coolville and Amesville show no filings though petitions circulate in Amesville. A write in filing rule now requires an intent to run 20 days before the November 2 election. If unfilled, current officials keep posts. Recent filings include Terry K. Bunting for Buchtel clerk treasurer, Joe T. Matheny for York Township trustee, Charles B. Lowry for Waterloo Township trustee, and Edna Whiteman for Lee and Albany town clerks, the latter incumbents.
