The Columbus Hocking Valley and Toledo Bay line in cooperation with Michigan Central Railway offers a cheap round trip to Detroit Michigan. From Athens the excursion departs at 7 am and returns four days later with an 8.50 round trip fare. Through coaches run Columbus to Detroit and return.
The Central Ohio Saengerbund hosts its fifth Saengerfest in Columbus on May 29 30 and 31. On Friday July 20 round trip tickets will be sold from all stations to Columbus and back for one fare, good returning until August 1 1887.
