Middleport Council OKs Street Repairs Plan In Special Session
Middleport village council in a special session voiced unanimous support for repairing 11 miles of streets within the limits as funds permit. Mayor C O Fisher urged a finance committee be appointed to study the finances and report soon. H M Cross and David Darsi offered the resolution. Fisher defended past spending and urged financing the new program, noting the initial $26,000 investment and praised the streets’ condition. Cross, finishing his sixth year and not seeking re election, cited the broader benefit of the 21 miles of improved roads already completed.
