Nelsonville police seek information on a month old collie type puppy black with white on chest and escaped from a building at the water treatment plant. The pup bit a child in the east end while the child tried to free it from a fenced area and authorities want to observe it to avoid rabies shots.
Mrs Myrtle Strausbaugh of Wellston visited Mrs Anna Higgins. The Vinton Friendship Garden Club met at Mrs Max Barnes home with seven members present. Mr and Mrs Eddie McGhee visited Mr and Mrs Ed McGhee. Mr and Mrs Clayton Cornell of Wilkesville visited Mr and Mrs Cecil Carpenter.
Hazel McCoy, Leo Kelly and Ester Ben McCoy hosted guests in Pliny West Virginia. Jim Wright visited his parents in Hockingport. Muriel Spires Irma Bales and Rita Wright attended a baby shower for Joyce Ann Wooton at her Cheshire home with Mrs Wright as hostess.
A hearing on the 1968 Nel sonville York City School District budget is scheduled for August 7 at 6 p.m. at York School board office. A copy of the budget will be on file for public inspection. Bids for bread and milk to the cafeteria and coal for Murray City school building are due by noon August 7 and will be opened at the regular board meeting.
Nelsonville reports the West School reunion will be Aug 26 during the Parade of the Hills festival. Reunion president Mrs. John M. Hartley, secretary Mrs. Vera Woodruff, and officers plan activities on school grounds at 2 p.m. Prizes honor the farthest attendee and oldest and youngest participants. Jiggleburg and Dorr Run groups compete, with Dorr Run joining strong this year.
Murray City joined many relatives and friends at the funeral for Emmett Snyder. Attendees included Mrs. Wallace Morgan Lelia Houser Pontiac Michigan and several Snyder relatives from Arkon Powell New Straitsville Toledo East Fultonham Barberton and Columbus. A Logan man Robert St Tschudy faced a fine and jail time after pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated.
New Straitsville hosts a Methodist Church class gathering at Edna Litman's home with many local visitors from Reynoldsburg Shadyside Cherry Hill and Columbus. Nelsonville city council to hold a special meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. to consider street bids and other items. Former U S Open champions Fleck Bolt Littler fail to qualify for the final 36 holes with 149 149 151 scores.

Nelsonville police report complaints of BB and air gun firing in the city. Chief Max Valkinburg says air guns are illegal within city limits and selling BBs to children is unlawful. Guns will be confiscated if shots occur and parents are responsible for damage. juveniles causing damage will be cited to Juvenile Court.
