NYA Training Center eyed for former Russell home in Pomeroy
Public reaction to a proposed NYA Training Center for girls in the school owned former Russell home is strongly favorable. The plan calls for a monthly rent of 75 dollars and necessary repairs estimated at 1500 dollars. NYA says use duration can’t be guaranteed, but officials expect occupancy for at least a year. Local leaders cite high female unemployment in Meigs County and view the center as essential to improving employment prospects for girls.
