Athens and Coalville Men Drowned in Rivers Thursday
Two men from the Athens area died in drowning incidents on Thursday evening. George E. Gaver 39 of Richland Avenue and Clarence Chutes 48 near Coolville disappeared in the Muskingum and Hocking Rivers respectively. Gaver’s body was recovered about 20 minutes later after wading with D. G. Haley to check river depth. Chutes body was found about an hour and a half later with a bruise on his left foot suggesting entanglement with tree roots. Both leave families and funeral details are noted for local services.
