From Memory's Well McArthur Man Was Athens Photographer
Ed Cullums, native of Athens and former gallery owner, ran a McArthur photograph studio in the Cullums home on E State Street. He once advertised during the John Robinson circus in 1897 and had 90 sittings the following week. The piece traces local transport, from the Hocking River and canal to the Nelsonville Athens traction line, which operated 1909 to 1983, and recalls early telegraph and horse-drawn travel era in the Athens area.
