Frey Named Supervisor For Children's Home
Frey, a 38 year old Athens native and former probation officer, is named supervisor of the Athens County Children’s Home succeeding Vernon West. He will earn 400 dollars monthly and live in remodeled staff quarters with his wife Shirley Watkins and their three children. The board consolidates the home supervision with executive secretary duties and retains Mrs. Margaret Bridgewater as casework head. The staff remains on call and no matron was named to replace Mrs. West who resigns July 31. Two OU engineers attend nuclear energy institutes this summer, Dr. Roger Quisenberry at Florida and Joseph Essman at North Carolina State College.
