Vinton 4-H Demonstration Contest Set for July 26
Vinton County 4 H clubs will stage a demonstration and illustrated talks contest on July 26 at 7 p m in the McArthur High School auditorium The event aims to build self confidence and character in youths The top individual and team demonstrations win trophies and advance to the state contest at the Ohio State Fair The state winner earns a free trip to the National Club Congress in Chicago.

Saddle Horse Show Set in McArthur
In McArthur Vinton County a 4 H saddle horse show is planned for July 27 at 10 am at the county highway garage. 4 H boys and girls and FFA boys will enter livestock events with animals due July 26 at 1 pm and Saturday morning for saddle horses. Judging times run from 9 am sheep and swine to noon for rabbit poultry and dog with several stops for beef dairy and 4 H saddle horses throughout the day.

Ohio WCTU Pearl Medal Contest winner named
The Ohio WCTU Pearl Medal Speech Contest at Washington EUB Church Columbus featured two Vinton County contestants Joe White of New Plymouth and Karla Napper of Wilkesville. White won the Pearl Medal and advances to the Diamond contest on August 8 in Lancaster.

McArthur High School auditorium hosts 4 H Clubs FFA FHA Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts displays July 26 6 pm to 7 pm and July 27 9 am to 2 pm Booth decoration by advisors and members set for July 25 9 am to 9 pm and July 26 9 am to noon Judging occurs July 26 afternoon Advisors must submit booth reservations to the county extension office by July 23. Corn muffins leftover toast them for creamed chicken ham or veal.
