Divorce Granted in Meigs County Court
Dorothy Savely was granted a divorce from John Savely on Wednesday by Judge Emmet W. Peoples in the Meigs County Common Pleas Court. The plaintiff received custody of two minor children.

Injured Man Improving at Holzer Hospital
Middleport N C Welch, a dental surgeon and U S Army major, is recovering from a back injury at Holzer Hospital. He can sit in a chair and receives daily visits from family including sisters Mrs. Heywood and Mrs. Ferrell and niece Jane Welch. His son Dr. H L Welch of Gassaway recently visited before a Ft. Knox training period. Major Welch has coordinated a dinner with Lt Robert Chambers at Camp Roberts, both former Middleport residents.

Folk Square Dance Festival Planning Meeting Set
Plans for a folk and square dance festival in Meigs County will be made at a 2 p.m. meeting Sunday at City Hall. Organizer Jo Hardy says representatives from tri county groups are invited to attend the planning session.

Middleport Delegation Attends Gallia Pythian Meet
An 18 member Middleport team of Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters led by J H Grate and Erma Smith attended the second meeting of the Pythian Association in Gallipolis. Delegations from Jackson Wilkesville Carbondale Nelsonville joined a torchlight parade and a chalk talk at Naomi Temple. Refreshments followed as plans were made for the next Middleport gathering in August.
