Petition Seeks Bedford Township Highway Route Change

A petition presented before W. Coucet of the State Highway Department requests a new route through Bedford township. Proponents claim it shortens the road 1700 feet with a better grade and fewer hills while passing above woods, while opponents say the current path via Darwin and Burlingham serves a more populated area. Attorneys argued on both sides as the division engineer will forward the matter to the state department, whose final decision may take time.
