Gallia County Hires News Engineer for WPA Road Projects

Gallia County hires John Turter Jr of Oak Hill as assistant engineer under County Engineer E N Leonard to lead WPA county road work at 125 dollars monthly. Funds were appropriated for half a year, and Zanesville WPA district requirements have delayed several projects, causing 280 WPA workers to be laid off. Leonard blames late orders, says he had four days to secure an engineer, and faces threats and petitions for his removal. Turner now drafts plans but can cover only about a mile per day, leaving the situation unsettled.
