Traction Service Halted on Hocking Nelsonville Line
Breakdowns in equipment on the Hocking-Sunday Creek traction line have halted service between Athens and Nelsonville. A rotary converter at Floodwood power plant burned out ten days ago and a second converter failed yesterday. The first converter is under repair and expected back later today or tomorrow.

Gilbert Home Damaged By Fire At New Marshfield
NEW MARSHFIELD July 11 Fire of unknown origin partly destroyed the home of Harley Gilbert here yesterday afternoon. A train crew saw the blaze and alerted residents who formed a bucket brigade and confined the flames to the shingle roof, with minimal interior damage and no loss of furniture.
