City Workers Pay Raise Debate dominates Nelsonville council
The Nelsonville city council spent most of its regular session debating a proposed across the board pay raise for city workers. The finance committee recommended five percent instead of ten, citing about five thousand dollars annual cost and suggesting raises only for staff with one year of service. The meeting included employee rebuttals, an executive session, and a plan to return next month with final recommendations and legislation.
