South Carolina Senate votes to remove Confederate flag

The SC Senate voted 37 to 3 to remove the Confederate flag from the Capitol grounds, clearing a path to a historic measure. If the House approves, Gov. Nikki Haley could sign, and the flag would be lowered and shipped to the Confederate Relic Room. A second vote was required to move the proposal to the House.
