Heat Spurs Extra Work at Nelsonville Water Plant

Nelsonville plant superintendent Watson Wolfe says hot weather prompted extra pumping to keep safe water volume. Mixing river and well water saves about 500 dollars monthly in operating costs mainly from reduced chemical use. Water hardness runs about 80 parts per million. June pumpage totals 14 245 000 gallons, up from 11 890 000 in 1964 and 12 245 000 in 1965.
