Nelsonville Council approves improvements for electric light and waterworks
Nelsonville council last night adopted an improvement ordinance funding electric light and waterworks upgrades with 19 800 and 4 000 from respective funds to total 23 300. Plans call remodeling the plant building purchasing a boiler engine generator switchboard and electrical gear. A building code ordinance was set for submission to fire insurance underwriters for approval as part of improving insurance classification and building permits. A special fireman salary of five dollars per day was fixed and a service director salary increase to 160 per month was introduced but failed to pass suspension of rules, needing two more meetings for adoption.
