Shark bite on Outer Banks leaves 68-year-old in need of care
A 68-year-old man was attacked by a 7-foot shark while waist-deep in water off Ocracoke Island in North Carolina. The bite injured his ribcage, leg, hip and hands as witnesses said he was pulled under. It was the seventh attack along the coast this year, a record for the state. He was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. other beachgoers returned to the water within hours.
