Two 1899 born supercentenarians mark a world apart
Susannah Mushatt Jones of New York and Emma Morano of Verbania Italy, both born in 1899, are cited as Europe and the world’s oldest living people by the Gerontology Research Group. Morano, 115, lives in Verbania and attributes longevity to a diet of raw eggs and routine health care, while Jones, nearly 116, resides in Brooklyn and relies on family support, a stable daily routine, and a long history of public service and education advocacy.
