Court of Appeals to Hear York Nelsonville Transfer Case
The Fourth Judicial Court of Appeals will hear Thursday at 1 p.m. in Athens County Common Pleas Court a mandamus action filed by York Township residents seeking to force the Athens County Board of Education to act on transferring portions of the York district to Nelsonville City School District. Named plaintiffs are Paul Hoskins Gordon Tolliver Victor Dixon and Chriss Wolfe. The proposed transfer includes the Poston Plant area valued at $15 000 000. The board argues the petitions lack 75 percent qualified voter support and proper verification.
