Virtue of Self Sacrifice May Be Vice in Family Life
Dorothy Dix argues self sacrifice may harm instead of help when families pressure marriage and career. She notes the eldest child burdened with work education and the old maid staying home to care for relatives, urging individuals to choose partners by heart, not family bias. Peggy asks if she should quit work after marriage. Dix says couple decides, and owning a home should not crush happiness or finances.
